Josh discusses how 410a refrigerant isn't going anywhere anytime soon in this video. New efficiency standards that go in affect at the end of 2022 have no bearing on the type of refrigerant in the new, more efficient equipment. We go through some of the misinformation that is on many HVAC websites currently that say 410a refrigerant will completely be gone in 2023. We hope getting the facts out will help you make your HVAC purchasing decision easier!

Next week I’m having a new American Standard Side Discharge Heat Pump added to my house where we only had a natural gas furnace before by a very reputable HVAC contractor in the area. I’m keeping the furnace so it’ll be a dual fuel system.

Figures that when I finally decide to add cooling to my house that this is all unfolding. I’m still going through with the 410a install.

However, I am going to sign up with their service plan for about $35 a month that covers a checkup of the heating system and a checkup of the cooling system plus some other little perks. They will come out twice a year, once for each system.

If I have those checkups yearly (at least once a year for the heat pump) they will warranty the new installation for 10 years to include labor and “supplies” which includes refrigerant. To me that seems like a good compromise because IF something fails in the future and I need to add R410a, it’s covered for the next decade.

Okay this is very confusing to us who are not in this business. I had a guy I was a very loyal customer since 2012. He put in a new condenser it was a York that I never heard of but I've had full trust in him. Within a few weeks we noticed the air conditioning coming out felt more like a fan air it was constantly going and could not hold the set temperature. Covet hits! This guy when we tell him what's going on and no water is coming out of the drain pipe. When he finally came the system was totally empty he instilled it incorrectly. At first he was refusing to do anything about it but after seeing how very upset and Confused over his behavior he did fix the leak and then charged us $900 telling us there was the change and that's why he was telling us it's better to rip the whole system out the system was still under warranty! I'm sure it put a lot of strain on the inside air so far it's been running 4 months still good. I have no idea what happened with this guy he's a very small time business that we supported. Has only one truck and his young son works with him. He then said a doctor recommended he retired this is a guy with three children a wife and a mortgage we knew it was a lie. I watch him on Facebook he does a lot of rooftop jobs I live in a community of 300 and they put him up on the board as never to use thinks he should be reported it was very cruel. My inside air handler I have two are both 14 years old we don't know what to do. A lot of times when I listen to you and others in your Fields come on it's like listening to doctors talk to each other it's very confusing. They tell me to stay away from the big companies I live in a state where air conditioning is practically all year please help

Here is what I think I buy top of the line 410a system today with 10 year warranty for a good price so you say because new refrigerant system is going to be a lot more money then after two years evaporator coil started leaking I call you for a warranty repair you check it and say a good news your coil is covered it’s free to you I am only charging you for my time and very expensive 410a gas I look at the proposal
    and it’s $2300.00
I ask you your time is very expensive you saying no the gas is 410a is hard to get nowadays and I have another option for you to change out the system with a new gas
My question to you who’s the loser in this
