410a refrigerant is being banned faster than previously thought. The first state to take the step of banning it entirely and faster than the AIM Act passed in 2020. California recently passed a law banning HFC refrigerants above 750 GWP by the year 2033. This goes much further and more drastic than the original AIM Act timeline. In this video, we go through how that may affect consumers whether they live in the state of California or another part of the country. California may be paving the way for other states as well. Only time will tell.

Gosh California is not focusing on the right things….

Most units in those "temporary" bungalow classrooms use a SEER 10 with resistive heat. They need to move to DC Inverter heat pump systems not this wacky refrigerant with NO test data.

This is what happens when California gets governed by San Francisco with no science background.

Yes, why upgrade just to find out your new system cannot be recharged in just 5 years or so? Another so called green law will outlaw a new HVAC system that cost couble yet cannot be virgin serviced in just 5 or 10 to 15 years later. Seems like it best to keep what you have and search for R22 or R410a until the DOE, EPA, CARB etc final get off their high horse on refrigerant wars. Makes no sense to do these changes to the public in such short intervals…when they just upgraded for $20,000 and find out the EPA will ban what is needed to service them.

Kalifornia is going crazy. I am not sure why anybody would want to live there or adopt Kalifornia laws. This law will have no effect on climate but prices will go up.
