Hey everyone welcome to swimuniversity.com. My name is matt javanese and today i'm going to show you how to clean and take care of your hot tub filters when it comes to cleaning your hot tub filters. There's three methods: you can use the quick rinse, the chemical rinse and the chemical soak for the quick rinse, just rinse your filters with plain old hose water about once a week for the chemical rinse spray, your filters down with a chemical cleaning solution that you can Find at your local pool, store or here on swim university and then let it sit for about 15 minutes afterwards, you're going to want to rinse the heck out of these things. I'm talking a lot fill a bucket, a 5 gallon plastic bucket with water fill it all the way to the top or enough to completely cover the filter.

Then you can add the recommended amount of filter cleaning solution that you can pick up at your local pool, store or swimuniversity.com and submerge the filter and let it rest for 24 hours remove the filter from the chemical soaking solution and discard then again rinse the heck Out of them, the more you rinse it, the less chance, you'll have foam in your hot tub and that's it when it comes to cleaning your hot tub filters. If you'd like to get more information or detailed text on how to do this, you can visit our website. It's swimuniversity.com, it's really bright out here, and this hot tub is very white. His water is very clear and that puppy is crying.

You.

Few questions… When doing a weekly quick rinse, should you turn the power off (actually that goes for quick rinse and deep cleanse)? If you keep power on, do you turn off the circ pump when removing the filter (to avoid stuff going through pipes)?

If you didn't rinse the heck out of them and now you have foam in your spa, how do you get rid of that foam?

So, it's 1 of the 3 vs. all 3 of them, each time you clean them?

A tip for preventing foam after cleaning the filter: After rinsing thoroughly, soak the filter[s] in @ 1/2 cup white vinegar in about 2 gallons of water for about 5 minutes….then rinse again. This will neutralize the foam-causing agents!!

Works on carpet shampoo recovery tanks too! Avoid buying the expensive "Anti-Foam" when you rent a rug doctor. Put a splash of white vinegar in the recovery tank–NOT mixed with the shampoo–and you won't have any foam!! Service area Kanata??

You first method mentions to spray out the filters once a week, but during the next two methods (Chemical Spray and Chemical rinse) there is no frequency time frames mentioned. Could you please clarify. Thanks!
