from another HVAC tech to another, how do you deal with jobs that seem to never end or seem to be the proverbial can of worms. dealing with a train intelapak that was "maintained" by severely under experienced building owners Service area Barrhaven??

I really don't know why I'm even watching this. Well, I mean, they're explained well, and they're interesting, but I think most of all it's just enjoyable watching someone loving their job so much and actually performing the best to their ability. The world would be such a better place if everyone performed their job like that.

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Hank Eisenstein says:

You should double-charge if the customer doesn't do preventive maintenance and calls with an emergency. Service area Kanata??

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars 750 kV says:

At this point you should offer preventive maintenances. 🙂Afterall, they have to call someone like this, same thing I guess. Maybe I'm wrong.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mike Castillo says:

    👍

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Adam Wood says:

Love your video man! And your positivity! It’s frustrating when customers don’t care and when you come behind techs who just band-aid. Glad you do things the right way! Do you do any rack work? Would love more videos about rack work if you do. Especially rack oil control as it has been the most difficult for me! Keep it up, love your work!

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jake Steel says:

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Matthew Trevett says:

Thanks for the videos. As we approach winter I'll buy some beanies & give them out to my team. Love the cutaways and also love the explanation of "basic refrigeration cycles" – if you made a basic intro to refrigeration series I'd watch it and show to my staff. Thank you so much once again.

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ezequiel Crespo says:

We're can I learned all this servicing and troubleshooting I need to have someone teach me in person but as an residential install tech they don't want to teach you troubleshooting and I'm struggling with it I really want to learn troubleshooting step by step and it's so hard to find people to teach new people it's almost impossible. I really want to go to comercial and industrial and they need techs to know how to troubleshoot but I can't find help on how to properly troubleshoot.

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bob Koutoulogenis says:

You are a good man who cares about the quality of your work. Thanks for the great educational videos. You obviously have a lot of technicians watching your channel. I own a restaurant and have learned how to be a good partner with my HVAC technician because of the information provided by you. The biggest problem on the restaurant side is that operators aren’t educated on how equipment works and how to keep equipment maintained. Thanks again for taking pride in your work!

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ally-Oop! says:

I never noticed before but are his titles maybe the only place I ever see him roast the clients? I’ve put off plenty of my own residential maintenance before and I’m sure the people I’ve called have shit on me for it out of earshot but this guy is consistently thankful and generous with his demeanor towards his customers. I’ve said it before in other videos and I’m sure I’ll say it again, consummate professional.

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bigpond CableGuy says:

    Wow, those condensers were dirty.

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jason John Uzak says:

    It's lack of regular maintenance

  37. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Johnathan Chuprun says:

Awesome video as always, thank you! Excited for your house system videos, will be fun.

  38. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sparky Tech says:

Don't know why but watching the condensers being cleaned is so satisfying Thanks for all your videos

  39. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brendan Conley says:

I would have cleaned the ACs too if the customer let me, at my company on-call is double time including driving so he'll ya I'll clean the shit of that coil on double time, that customer would get like a $900 bill for coil cleaning and filters. I have a regular customer that has in house maintenance to do their PMs and I swear to you they just change the filters and take a nap. Also the only Kline tool I ever got that was junk was the screw driver version of that (it is the 14 in 1 I believe) it dropped the screw bits all the time and at only a month old the rubber grip was spinning on the plastic handle.

  40. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Richard Bartlett says:

you've more Patient than I am .I'm far less tolerant of idiots than I used to be.
I would have responded sure and come out but just quickly hosed each coil down to get air flowing again and said "I'll see you in a week or so" the difference coil cleaner makes compared to just hosing is minimal tbh.
hosing the worst off would have got them all back and running and allowed you to send another guy out with a spare couple of hours to chemically clean the coils to make up the extra bucks.
in some cases it's a genuine emergency the client had no control or responsibility for, but in this case I certainly wouldn't have wasted hours on that roof on a Sunday like you seemed to have judging by the sun for some idiot owner too dumb to realise his equipment needs maintenance. it's not his first day on the job FFS.
if you're flat out and understaffed you need to rethink why you get stupid customers ringing you on a Sunday.
learn to protect your company, you, your staff and dependants by not chasing every dollar. Remember they really don't give two shits if you keel over and die.
They'll just shrug their shoulders and dial another idiot too afraid to say no…
stop trying to be Mr Wonderful of the fridge world
'bigger picture stuff' works both ways. imho

  41. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars A. Koenigs says:

I'd use a broom to move those leaves, stirs up less dust Service area Nepean??

  42. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars pillsburied says:

Well, out of sight, out of mind. The managers in these businesses are thinking about what is happening inside their 4 walls. The roof is the furthest thing from their mind (literally as well as figuratively). They've never been on the roof and have no idea what it looks like or what filth lurks above their heads. Few will understand that refrigeration is simply moving heat from one place to another. It might be helpful to take some photos of half-cleaned condensers to show them what you're talking about, or use screenshots from the video.

I imagine the filter changers/condenser cleaners are paid relatively poorly, or on a commission basis. They will be under a lot of pressure to expedite in any case. Perhaps they give the condensers a quick spray, but they are certainly not going to clean the roof. Someone has to spend hours with shovels and wheelbarrows and brooms to clean up that mess, but who? Each situation is different. A lot can fall through the cracks. Service area Ottawa??

  43. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars nope nope says:

It might be frustrating, but they choose to call you because you do a good job. The other guy could be just as professional as you or a hack bleeding them and that's the choice they face. I'm sure the shortages have shown a lot of customers who the true professionals are with replace vs repair of serviceable equipment.

  44. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Cayden says:

These places really don't take care of their equipment.

  45. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eledore says:

I think the question is "What is a sight glass" Period. Haven't seen one (that i noticed) or heard of them in over 20+ years, i have cleaned units and replaced filters
(non professional, i support businesses and tell them to maintain equipment properly! Not buy and forget. They do tend to forget that, and then i visit to kick there ass as a consultant).
It might just be because I live in Europe and you are in the USA. But over here there is no practice or reference of any thing of a sight glass. And i even asked local tech's and they don't know either.
So how does a solid column of liquid look, and do you know (or examples) of different states of how the sight glass might look if it isn't..

  46. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jeffrey Murdock says:

    Pluggo buggo.

  47. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eecaj Ledo says:

I never can understand how people can spend millions on a business and not maintain there property and equipment. Ignorance is no excuse , There smart enough to get the money to open the business. My point of view is the people just do not give a dam. But why go thru the process and expense of opening a business if you don't care about maintaining the darn thing , thus my confusion. Are you in Nepean ?

  48. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars geicomatt says:

Have you thought about having a part of your company just do the filter and pm work? I myself would love to get into hvac but math is not my strong point, but I can run a hose lol

  49. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MyNamesDan says:

You're the best Chris, always so informational and helpful.

  50. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars CallSign Mayhem says:

There's a saying I've heard that goes: You have the right to be upset, but you don't have the right to be a dick. Glad you always touch on that stuff. Also, not sure if you use them, but I love using the Mars 10850 for evap/ Condenser motors. Just another universal motor.

  51. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Just Me says:

Any idea on getting an EU based affiliate? Or a EU warehouse for your merchandise?
