Five members of Congress have written a letter to the Department of Energy asking for more time before the 2023 standards for HVAC equipment efficiency goes into effect. In this video, we go over some of the concerns brought up by some of the top supporters of the bill. Joshua also gives his insight and tough love advice to anyone buying HVAC equipment with the new standards coming. Don't wait until it's too late!

what are we going to do with the pase-out of 410-a systems in service now… or better yet what about the 100 million of r-22 systems still in use… THE Biden administration is cramming these changes down our throats to save the "world" and the biggest contributor to "global warming" China and India could care less…. China just built 10 coal burning electrical power plants.. TRUMP had it right when he pulled us out of the Paris accord…… I'm all for saving our climate but you don't destroy your economy or bankrupt it's citizens in the process……………..

More work. nice. Good information. They're going to be less "cheap" guys in the future? With the price increasing we are getting from our manufactures the customer will have no choose but more efficiency. liked it thanks From DFW area

the main issue i have with the DOE and the EPA is they are way out of bounds pushing a more efficient systems when we cant even get lesser seer systems and parts now do to shortages and supply chain disruptions. before more regulations are put in they need to fix the current issues i have been put in positions with customers on reviving systems that are R-22 do to some of there parts are easer to get do to manufacturing of newer system are not available or on back order with out a time when they will have them for shipping at least in my area. i have no problems with saving energy but this massive push with there green energy deals is causing more issues than good.

Yeah, that letter is NOT helping the citizens of AZ, its mainly targeted to help contractors, developers etc. to still have the ability to install the cheap contractor models of HVAC. As if there is not enough profit in home construction and a "one time" issue mainly because these pending homes are likely all sold and agreed sales prices set on paper. Just this one time, another $1,000 maybe to a home is easily affordable to any developer for this rare cut off date. Talk about pinching pennies as if they have already spent the profits they expect to receive in 6 months. I have no concern for them, they have their issues in construction and so do the buyers with interest rates and a lot of other factors that will hurt them too. Simply just upgrade the HVAC so they meet the standards that will apply at the time of sale. The buyers shouldn't have to be concerned with this nor should anyone else, just the builders and most other businesses who have similar up costs or compliance concerns rarely contact their representatives to help them keep profits vs. consider it a cost of doing business. Maybe if they designed and installed their HVAC systems better than they usually do, their headaches would reduce too such as better grade supply and return registers, clean ducting methods, clean plumbing and electrical with correctly placed condensers and attic units and so forth. While they are at it they might also consider more features homes used to come with years back such as cased windows and doorways, window sills, exterior ducted cooktop exhaust fan hoods, higher grade exhaust fans in bathroom and utility rooms, copper plumbing vs. PEX, exterior lighting and electric receptacles, block walls or fencing, no mud stained stucco jobs, steel reinforced driveways and slabs and of course better grade windows and doors. The problem I see is builders want market price for their new homes yet they don't put in the quality grade items that most homes on the market have after ten or 20 years of being occupied. New tract Homes today are a rip off at asking prices.

Hey Josh I have a question just had a estimate for furnace and ac replacement, I looked up the units in the estimate two are from 2016 model year and one is from 2019 model year is that a issue? I was thinking they would be max 2 year back models or am I just blowing smoke? Thanks in advance

Besides Paul Gosar being a total POS, you shouldn't be building single family homes all spread out over everywhere, and in Arizona FFS. And I bet everyone one of these houses will have a fing green grass lawn for you to keep up with too.

Curious what you guys think, I have a 2007 r22 heat pump that has a condensing coil leaking, the way I see it I have three options,1- replace the condensing coil if I can find one for r22 and add a drop in refrigerant, 2- replace the condensing coil with a r410a unit then change the evaporator coil also and fill with 410A, option 3 – wait till 2023 and get a unit that takes the new refrigerant whatever that's going to be, this is at my home, I would appreciate any feedback or thoughts,

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars PickleRix says:

Builders usually want to install the cheapest HVAC system possible. When I purchased my home, the salesman told me that all of their homes had Lennox HVAC equipment (12 SEER). The condensing unit was definitely a Lennox but I noticed that there was no tag on the furnace so I assumed that it was also a Lennox. I didn’t realize that I had a cheap Goodman furnace until I opened it up to clean and service it.

Why is it that the US (and some other Western countries) bureaucrats want to treat us like idiots and pretend they know better than we do what's best for us, forcing us to do as they say? 🤔

All while drilling us with the propaganda "home of the free".

Free to comply. Are you in Kanata ?

More government overreach. This is just the beginning of government mandates to cover their creation of power shortages. Third world country status here we come. All the illegals coming in need to provided a large palm frond to keep us cool. They need to serve some useful purpose.
