Did you know that most schools didn't have air conditioning in the 1900s? and since there was nothing to cool the hot classrooms, schools would close for the summer. Many government buildings would too. Some have said that now that we have AC that schools should stay open year round. What do you think?.

Selfishly I don’t like seeing kids out of school 🏫. They mess up traffic and bother me. 😂

But in the mornings I don’t like school buses 🚌.

As someone who left school as early as it was legally possible because it is a brainwashing JOKE meant to remove the ability to think and waste precious resources I would have to say keep them there as long as possible so I don’t have to deal with them!

    😂😂😂

Wake County schools in NC have year round schools but, not all. There are at least two advantages to this concept. First, students are scheduled into four tracks with three tracks attending at any one time. There is a 3-4 week summer break (considered end of school year) when no students attend. Thermostats are set higher to save in the hot southern summers and maintenance is performed. This means you can school 33% more students in the same building saving on capital expense of building more schools and lower labor costs with fewer administrators and teachers per student. Attendance at the school in your district is mandatory even if it’s regular schedule or “year round”. If your family has multiple kids in year round, the district will accommodate by putting all kids in the same track. This is an advantage to families that they can schedule vacations in off season periods. For example, if you’re a skiing family, you can schedule a ski vacation when most schools are in session or go to Disney during lower cost times. Child care is a problem at times but it also started new business opportunities in child care. This is only done at elementary and middle schools. High Schools are all regular schedule. If you don’t want year round scheduling or DO want it, you can apply for changing schools but it is not guaranteed. If you are accepted at a school outside of your normal school, parents are responsible for transportation.

Overall, great for the tax payer, and most families like it after an initial backlash. Great idea, IMO.

Same could be said about the need for schools and the Internet. Do we really need government run schools anymore? If you can work from home you can learn from home. Service area Barrhaven??
