Should you add a winter pill when closing your pool, these are easy to use balls that slowly release a blend of enzymes, clarifiers, and stain and scale prevention in your water after your pool is closed. This helps break down contaminants that build up over the winter and it won't affect the rest of your water chemistry. So if you struggle with stains, scaling, or scum lines in the spring, use a winter pill. But if you don't have these issues, a winter pill is totally optional.
