Always remember to check your strainers before trying to adjust a txv and or before replacing it.

    Tech: tires to adjust valve.
Valve: does nothing because the strainer is plugged.
Tech: Must be a bad valve. Replaces valve.
    New valve: Works
Tech: Yup, definitely a bad valve.

Learned that the hard way after soldering in a new Danfoss TE2, where the replaceable strainer is hidden inside the replaceable orifice. After changing the entire thing it still wasnt working and i only saw the plugged strainer when trying to swap the orifice.
Felt real bad, even tho it was on a commercial contract where we dont bill by the hour.

The Danfoss valves have a combo strainer and cartridge. The crush washer for the Danfoss valve cannot be reused indefinitely. Keep extra seals for the Danfoss valves on your truck

But here is the bonus tech tip. Keep that old one.. clean it with K O Blast.. good as old as long as its not ripped. That one doesn't look that bad.. ive seen completely full ones. Stay safe and be well. Are you in Barrhaven ?

If the strainer getting plugged up – it is time to investigate why windings insulation is falling apart, and time to plan replacing the compressor. Although I know one that kept plugging up the strainer for 3 years, finally ended up spitting the compressor plug contact out
