So let me ask you. I'm working on an R290 system. You guys working on those yet? Does it scare you? Are you afraid of it? I Can tell you that it's really not a big deal as long as you follow proper practices. Purge With nitrogen and be careful, it's really not a big deal.
So I'm currently hurrying up and, uh, waiting on this one right now because the vacuum's running, so that's it.
What is the psig on the r290 Freon work
It doesn't bother me that it's highly flammable, it bothers me that I have to pierce the lines to get pressures. Just inconvenient.
I I've been watching your videos for a while. I feel like it's one of those things like having a gun in the house as a kid. You know that it's dangerous, and respect it enough to not mess with it like it's harmless
Afraid?
It's just a machine Service area Ottawa??
If your scared of 5 grams of propane find another job. I just had a coworker arc out a 570 volt battery string with a wrench, he got away with "only" second degree burns. There are dangerous jobs out there, more dangerous than yours.
I don't know why people freak out over it. We pump natural gas into buildings and burn it. We use gasoline in vehicles. I've seen 480 short phase to phase. That scares me more than a few ounces of propane.
6 or 10 cfm pump?
As you said. Not a big deal if you follow proper practices and be careful.
Do you notice that r290 takes a while to evacuate? A lot of the units I work one take way longer than other systems.
Propane is used instead of nonflammable or non conductive refrigerant.
It comes in those tiny cans?
The solenoid valves who are they by the magnets that you got on there
Similar to R-1234yf in cars.
Follow proper precautions and use your head, nothing to fear.
I was the first one in my shop to do an R290 compressor change out. Like the fact of venting to atmosphere. Just keep the nitrogen purge going while brazing and itโs all good.
Nope I just purge burn it off outside…lol jk but not scared
I could see an issue if someone didnt know what they were doing and there was a pilot light somewhere close by
That seems to be the first expansion valve R290 system I've seen. I work on them on a weekly basis, and so far, all of them has been capillary systems.
Not even the DEVIL LUCIFER AND HIS HIDEOUS BEASTS OF HELL SCARE ME
They are not too bad all of our new reach jn cooler/freezer are r290 Are you in Kanata ?
What brand refrigerant scale is that in your video?
just started servicing them recently – if i can i bring them back to my shop and work on them there – safer to vent and i donโt have cooks stepping over me all day
I'll be doing my first one tomorrow. Been out of town for most. Hopefully won't be posting crispy photos tomorrow. Service area Orleans??
Iโm in Ohio
Havenโt seen any yet
There's no oxygen inside the pipework so it can't explode, worst case scenario is a rather violent jet of flame, kill it with a fire extinguisher.
Easy money Chris!
Work on em, not scared at all, it's like any other refrigerant, cept having to remove the access after every job.
At least it's not AMMONIA

For those who are in the know R290 is propane gas and R600a is butane gas.
I do not ever see either ever being used in cars. I seen a demo of what a R290 leak could do if it happen in side a car. Not good at all.
I knew it!! I did a R290 class from rsd. But the person giving the class was a salesman not a tech. He said r290 you must use special recovery machine and vacuum pump for r290. I see your using a fieldpiece vacuum pump, that tells me right there I'm good to use a regular vacuum pump Service area Nepean??
Iโve been working on these for a while. It gets me a lot of business honestly because the handyman guy canโt do it because heโs scared and they get my number somehow. Bang new customer. Are you in Barrhaven ?
Its not its easy Are you in Nepean ?
How do you like the JB scale?
