In today's video, we're going to show you how to turn on the auto changeover or the temperature range Auto changeover is just the verbiage they use with thermostats, but it's basically set that temperature range on a Honeywell 8000. Let's get to it all right guys. We're back at our Honeywell 8000 here. In a previous video, we talked about how to get into the installer settings on this thermostat and if you haven't seen that video and need to get into these settings, go watch that video.

But we've already found out from making that video that to get into this thermostat's installer settings, we've got to put in the code 1804 that is probably not going to be your code. You Got to go watch that video to get your code 1804 and then we're going to go into setup and to turn on that auto change over to set that range. We're going to come over several settings until we get to system changeover. If it's set to automatic, you're going to have that temperature range where you can set it to a three degree or however many degree.

If you need to change that dead band, it's on the next changeover setting Auto change over dead band and you can make that range bigger or smaller for the minimums. In this case, we're going to go back. We're going to turn the auto changeover off so system changeover back to manual. We're going to click.

Done! Yes, Yes! we want to save the changes and now when we go back to our home screen, you no longer have the option to do auto. It's either going to be heat cool or off. Yours might say emergency heat depending on the type of system you have. And so in this case we no longer have the range settings.

And so to turn that back on again, go back in same deal, put our code in, set up, and come over to system changeover. Turn that back to automatic. It's just the two options manual or automatic. Click Done? Yes, yes, and you'll see the range pop back up here.

Put it on auto done, and there's our range. So in this case we have it set to much higher than three degrees. But you can set this down to say 71. So bring this up to 70 and as you can see it automatically since we have that, Three Degree changeover.

it automatically changes the other one if you try to go below that three degrees. But that's how you use the auto changeover. and I hope that helps. Thanks for watching if you enjoyed this video.

Can you send me a link of the video on how to take the Honeywell 8000 pro cover off to access the installers code. Thank you

Some of these thermostats don't show the temp deviation when the HVAC starts up or turns off such as a cool setting of 76 is showing and the room temp also shows 76 but the AC may or may not be running. The question remains to be at what temp does the AC start or go off, 77 or 75 or 76? A lot of these thermostat instructions/manuals do not explain this nor do they go into any discussion as to the set deviation or if there are any adjustments higher or lower. My favorite feature is a setting that will allow the blower/fan to continue to run 30 seconds after the heater turns off and to be delayed slightly when the heater comes on which avoids a cool puff of air when starting. Same with A/C, condenser will come on and the fan will delay about 10 seconds and remains on maybe 20 to 30 seconds when the condenser turns off which allows the evap to dry off a tad in between cycles.

Auto Change Over is a nice feature for long term settings too such as summer cool 76 and winter heat 70. At this point you would hardly ever need to go to the thermostat throughout the year. Just leave it alone.

Do you know if this thermostat can do the temperature swing like 2 to 3 degrees to run longer cycle times? Service area Nepean??
