Step number one rinse and drain your hot tub.. If you have a new hot tub, many manufacturers ship hot tubs with a small amount of antifreeze.. It protects the plumbing from freezing. But you don't wan na soak in it.

Fill the hot tub's footwell. That's the bottom portion where you place your feet with water., Run the pump for a few minutes and then drain.. This clears any antifreeze out of your plumbing system.. If you're restarting an existing hot tub, you need to drain and clean your hot tub to get rid of old water and bacteria.

After draining refill. The tub with new water. Choose a good jet and drain cleaner and follow the instructions on the package.. Allow the jets to run long enough to do a thorough cleaning job and then once the jets and drains are cleaned drain.

The hot tub again.! If you winterize your hot tub, your drain, plugs and fittings should be unscrewed or open., So remember to make sure that everything is reconnected before filling your hot tub up with water and be sure to inspect your hot tub for any cracks, stains, mildew, frayed cords or Loose connections before you fill it. Step number two turn off all the power.. Before you do any major cleaning. You should always disconnect all power to your hot tub to prevent any shocking mistakes.

Pun, intended. Unplug your hot tub and turn off the circuit breaker to ensure the power is completely cut. Off. Step number three clean, the empty hot tub.

Spray and wipe down the shell and that's the actual tub of your hot tub and the hot tub cover. Use. Non-Abrasive, cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge to prevent any damage to your shell. Rinse thoroughly to keep your hot tub from foaming up later.

Step number four install or clean the filter.. Your hot tub filter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness of your water.. If your existing filters are dirty, you can just spray them down with a filter cleaner or put them in a chemical soak overnight.. Once the filter cartridges are clean, inspect them one more time in case they need to be replaced.

Completely. Step number five fill your hot tub.. We recommend always using a hose filter.. It will help prevent any impurities from your water source, including high mineral levels, which can clog your system metals like copper and iron, which can turn your water, green or brown and calcium, which can cause a buildup in your shell and plumbing..

When filling placed the hose into the filter, well, this will let the water circulate through the system and push out any air. That's stuck in the plumbing. Monitor the water levels as it fills. Just remember that when you get into the hot tubs, water will be displaced.

So the water level will rise. Step number six, prime, the pump., To make sure that all the air is out of the hot tub lines. You'll need to prime your hot tub. Pump..
This process varies depending on your hot tub, so be sure to read the owner's manual.. Some control panels have a self-priming mode. Wait until your water reaches at least 80 degrees, Fahrenheit or 30 degrees Celsius. Before you add anything., The heat helps the chemicals dissolve and incorporate into the water.. You wan na figure out how much water your hot tub holds, and you can usually find this in your owner's manual or doing a quick Google search. Where is your company located? Do you come out to clean and maintain hot tub for customers? If yes, how much is it?

Hi Matt and SwimUniversity, I would like to add an inline salt generator to my new hot tub. It seems that you generally don’t recommend this vs. the drop in type. However, my spa will be used in a vacation rental setting and I would like less things for guests to worry about and/or damage. I am an experienced plumber/electrician, so installation is not a problem for me. Is there one that you would might recommend for this situation? Thanks!

What if we have floating mineral/bromine system (I used product link you recommended, the yellow and green cylinders that screw into a disk) – how long do we wait for chemicals to get to right level?

I noticed foam on your video, is that normal? I thought foam meant chemical imbalance or is foam to be expected?
