Hey Pool Owners: Do you know how long you need to wait to swim after adding chemicals to your pool? For most chemicals, you can swim 20 minutes after adding them to the water. Just make sure the water is circulating so the chemical can mix and dissolve and test your water to make sure your levels are normal. But if you're using chlorine shock, you need to wait at least eight hours before swimming. You'll know it's safe to swim if your free chlorine levels have dropped to a normal range of 5 parts per million or less.
