I had a failure on my seffle year old infinity system, so I had to install it in part and at the same time my finger well now is a good time to go ahead and update my firmware. So we're gon na go ahead and do that. I've got my infinity touch thermostat. This is the a series one of the originals and it has version 13 point O two software in it, and I want to update it to the 1402 software, and so these are the instructions that we're gon na foil.
So I've got my in order to do this. You got ta have a USB device which I have right here. Usb device ready to go eight gigabytes, so it gives you some instructions. First thing it says: is click on this link to obtain the updated software? So I'm gon na click the link and then you got to read the end-user license agreement, which of course, I've already read thoroughly.
Yes, I agree and now we're gon na download that so now you can see this downloading and the bottom left. It is a zip file, so let's go through and see the rest of the instructions here. So once we've done that that's downloading now it's showing to use winzip and winzip is one. Certainly one option that you can use and I use a slightly different version.
So I'm going to open up the folder here, what I use I just right-click it and then I can extract all. That's generally the easiest way to do it. I've got it in the Downloads folder. So, let's let's go ahead and just put it on to the desktop.
So that way we can see it a little bit easier. That's something I typically do, and you can tell that because I have so much stuff on my desktop, so we're going to extract it. Alright, there's our there's our file, so we've got this version. 14 did so, let's see what the instructions tell us now, once we get that extracted verified the files include, including the data have been extracted to the tea set folder of the USB Drive.
So now we need to take this tea, stat folder and put it onto the USB Drive. So this guy right here, so I'm going to just open up my open up one of these other tabs plug in my well. That makes sense I need to plug. In my USB Drive - and you see it right here - going to drag and drop this t-stat folder onto its drive, so now that's the only thing on it and I'm gon na check and make sure that it's got the dot hex and the infi.
All right looks like it's got everything that we need so now we got to go ahead and plug this number step back in. I have it here in my desk, but we're gon na have to go over and plug this in in order to finish this process. So we've got the USB drive, we are in our menu mode and in order to go to service mode, we got to hold that down for what seems like an eternity. You think you can't do the full service mode there we go now we're in ok.
So now we need to go down into software. Upgrade segment. Please insert the USB flash drive all right. No, the thing with USBs is first time you do it, you always get it in the wrong way there.
It is so we're upgrading from 1300 to to 1400 to upgrade software. Yes, and this is the part where it just melts off of the wall. That's my imagination, all right! So there we go says we're done it done. Oh we're gon na wait for it to restart all right, so that is it. I just fully upgraded to the newest software and we're done.
I have the following mode: systxccitn01-a , how do I enable WiFi on this system? I noticed you had it there in the menu however I don’t see it on mine.
I wonder how many systems will need this as we start to move to much more secure control systems?
Can you post the actual link Service area Ottawa??
I have the Evolution stat. Where did you find the upgrade
Hopefully you didn't lose the config settings.
Good stuff…. beats having to change eproms or boards… which in reality, meant nothing ever was updated in the past
