News in the HVAC industry. Griffin Air and New HVAC Guide sharing new products and changes in the industry. In this video, Josh shares Carrier is joining some of the other big name brands in the HVAC industry by producing their own side discharge systems. This may be the future as the side discharge systems have a lot of advantages including clearance requirements and raw materials requirements to produce.
Next, we share that Goodman HVAC is now producing inverter/communicating systems which has not always been the case despite being owned by Daikin.

Hey guys before we get to the video for more tips and tricks in the heating and air industry, please click that subscribe button. Thank you, hey guys, joshua griffin here and the new hvac guide and wanted to do a video. I was a little reluctant to do this video because i'm sure, as soon as i do it, it'll probably be outdated soon. But during the making of this video, i thought that some of this information is kind of cool kind, of new kind of things that are changing in our industry, and i did a couple videos recently that i think will touch on this a little bit too.

What am i talking about? Well, i think, there's two pieces of news. That is pertinent, especially if you've watched any of my videos in the past. It's actually starting to some things are starting to change in the industry. Some of the brands are starting to make some changes, and i did a video not that long ago, basically talking about what we would call side discharge units and basically all that is its units that have the fan that blows out the front instead of the top.

Like what we would call a trash can or unitary style - and i go through all the pros and cons of that why the industry might be moving that way and so on. So i'm not going to do another video on that, but i just wanted to touch on that because recently one of the big names carrier and if you've watched any of my other videos. You know that carrier owns several other brands, including bryant day and knight and heil, and so i wanted to let you know during the making of this video carrier is now starting to make those side discharge units. Of course you know, daikin has one mitsubishi.

Has one train and american standard came out with one in the last few years and now carrier is starting to push one? I haven't seen some of the other big names make them yet, but i i'm sure that's coming, but during the making of this video carrier is now starting to make side discharge units in unitary applications, meaning that outdoor unit can be paired with an indoor furnace and Coil or an air handler, so that's kind of interesting again i made that announcement. I guess you could say in a previous video and now we see another one of the big names here in america starting to go. That way. The next piece of news that i thought i would share is i did a video in the past called goodman, good and bad, and it was actually a pretty successful.

Video of mine, lots of folks watched it and i kind of went through the good and the bad of the goodman brand. But one of the things i noted was how goodman had you know when other brands were starting to make inverter systems and communicating systems, and things like that that, even though goodman was owned by dyken and dyken and amanda were making those products, goodman had not quite Taken that step yet well during the making of this video, they now have taken that step. Why does that matter? Well, they're, one of the top selling brands in america, good or bad, and some of their products now are getting some of the high seer ratings that some of the other brands have hung their hat on for years. So i just thought that was interesting.
Goodman again, if you've watched my other video you'll know that they're very accessible a lot of companies that you know. For example, some of my suppliers will not sell to a homeowner or just somebody off the street. That's not licensed to do what we do and goodman. On the other hand, some of my suppliers, you can just walk right in they, don't ask for your license.

You can be a homeowner, they'll, sell you one and of course you can buy them online. I don't know if that's going to change probably will not but it'll be interesting to see what is offered in the future. Eventually, all the brands, even the lower builder grade brands, are going to have to meet government standards and, as time goes on, i'm sure that'll. You know increase and so on.

So i just thought that was interesting. Goodman is now producing communicating systems. I'm not going to go into all that because, again, i'm sure this video will become outdated, really quick, but i'll put a couple links down in the notes of their websites. That goes through some of the you know the newer products and also they're communicating brand.

That is controlling all of that high seer equipment so anyway check that out, and i hope this video helps. Thank you. The last thing i'll say is if you're in the market for a new heating and air system and you're in virginia and the middle peninsula or the northern neck, give griffin air a call. We'll give you a free estimate and the best warranty in the area.

But if you're, not in our coverage area check out my new website, i've even got a little banner up here. Newhvacguide.Com check out that site, because we've put so much information on there. It's as if i wrote a book telling folks, hey here's, the good and the bad avoid this or that i've even got a whole page called no knows things to stay away from, and so before you spend thousands check out that website and finally, for more tips And tricks in the heating and air industry click that subscribe button thanks for watching.

Luv the two Daikin Fit installed in my residence. So quite and how cool the inverter tech works with evaluation of outdoor / indoor environment and then adjusting the cooking capacity .
So much more comfortable in the home now, we also right sized our ducts

We just became a Daikin Dealer and I’ve sold a few FIT systems which are pretty sweet especially with the rebates. I’ve sold a dozen of the GVZ20(20 seer inverter) and they are pretty slick and quiet! They come with the lifetime compressor and 10 year unit replacement warranty which is nice. Many homeowners like to keep their wifi thermostats instead of the high dollar OEM stat which Goodman/amana allows for. I love em

Goodman and Amana are actually leading the market with their communicating technology incorporated into the air handler/furnace, which I believe they are the ONLY ones so far to do so without a proprietary communicating thermostat which is were the future will be in this area. This allows users of Smart Home Automation like myself to completely control the HVAC with standard Zigbee thermostats using various variables to exceed the industry SEER ratings of the equipment, such as using an outside weather station, which enables programming the HVAC to run not only from outside temp/humidity but also outside solar radiation affecting heat gain of the house, dozens of temperature and humidity sensors all averaging the house temp/humidity. Fine tuning the comfort level to a house average temp within 0.01 degree. While also continuously monitoring the delta T to be immediately alerted once the readings ever begin to drift out of normal.

Just installed a GSXC18 and a GMVC96 last week and have been fine tuning the programming now. Now if only the Cool Cloud app would open up their API so I could "Directly" manipulate their "smart" algorithms, without having to do it via their crappy Bluetooth phone connection (they will eventually do this).

I've already put in Daikin fit systems there okay. There build quality is still the same as Goodman with the exception of there's not being any analog components anymore everything is circuit boards and have Electric txvs. I hate the thermostat it looks ugly and the wheel it practically useless will see in the long run I still like Trane communication system but it all comes to cost.
