All right how's it going everybody. I wanted to take just a few minutes here and talk to you about the training. Symposium, we've gotten a lot of questions from folks about it, and i want to answer as many of those as possible, and some of you, especially those of you on youtube, may not even be aware of the training symposium because i haven't really talked about it. Much on youtube, especially not this year, so the training symposium - this is the second year that we're doing it.

It is a all-out training event here at our offices. In claremont florida, we put up a big tent in the parking lot between two of our warehouses and open up some of the warehouse doors and make a couple classrooms out of them. It's sort of the wood stock for hvac technicians, hvac, nerd stock, is what reagan murphy has uh coined it as being, but um we're excited to have this brought to you by measure quick this year. So measure quick is our presenting sponsor and then we have a whole bunch of other sponsors we'll go through some of those here in a little bit, but the biggest thing that makes this event so great are the trainers who come down the educators.

Most of these educators are going to be in person. Some can't make it in person, so they're going to be virtual. Only there is a virtual ticket. You can get it's very inexpensive and then there is also an in-person ticket.

If you want to come and be in person, we have about 70 tickets left for in person, so i wanted to quickly just let everybody know to give you some heads up and we're also going to talk through some of the accommodations we are located in central Florida, you know stone's throw away from a little town called claremont, which is just outside of orlando, so if you're flying to the orlando international airport about 35 minutes away from that, you could also potentially fly into tampa. But that makes it a little bit further drive about an hour and 15 minutes. So let's go ahead and talk a little bit about the event. I'm going to go ahead and open up our web page and make it a little easier for you to see, and our web page is for this particular event.

If you go to hvacrschool.com and just click on events, it will open that right up. You can see up here in the top bar or you can go to hvacrschool.com forward. Slash events just make sure to put the s at the end. Events.

The event is march 11th, through 13th 2021 um. You can once you get on this page. You can go purchase your tickets at the eventbrite link. That is the that's actually, where you purchase the tickets um for those of you who are going to be doing virtually you're going to be attending virtually the actual past.

That we'll give you we're going to give you just a few days in advance of the event. There's going to be a whole website built out just for all of the virtual talks, as well as the in-person talk. So we're going to have a couple talks that will be exclusive to virtual. Our virtual event is sponsored by emerson.
So thank you very much to emerson for being our title sponsor for the virtual event, it's going to be very well shot. We have professional videographers coming in to do all the video uh there's also going to be ways for you to interact with us, live as well. If you take the uh the virtual route, so here's our confirmed speakers and topics um jim bergman - is doing a couple. Different talks, his first and kind of to kick us off is going to be about evacuation.

Rick sims is the president of the florida chapter of akka, fraca and uh. He talks a lot about uh, duck design, duck testing air flow testing. All that and he's gon na do a presentation called condexation, which is basically talking about controlling condensation with ductwork and duct design, especially for climate zone, one if you're in a hot humid climate. It's going to be a great talk for you.

Nate adams is going to talk about quick and dirty, but accurate load. Calculations he's been doing a lot of pretty neat things in the load, calculation and design space recently. So you're going to want to see that one. If you're into that sort of thing mark taylor's going to come down from honeywell refrigerants he's going to talk about a new refrigerants glide next generation refrigerants joe medosh is a longtime friend of the podcast.

He did really early on. Did a podcast with us about blower doors, he's an expert in any everything, healthy homes, and so he's going to talk about healthy housing principles for high performance. Ac contractors bill stone's not going to be able to make it in person. But he's going to talk about iaq, test and measurement, virtually steve kasha is sort of the elite.

Soft skills trainer in the hvac industry he's been traveling all around for for years, teaching, contractors and technicians how to improve their soft skills. He's going to give a talk from the main stage, chris stevens is going to do a virtual talk on some weird system issues. The list is currently at six, but i just made that up we'll see whatever chris comes up with he's from hvac videos. If you haven't checked him out, he has an amazing youtube.

Channel eric martini from diversitec is going to talk about condensate management, uh systems kind of soup to nuts everything you need to know about condensate management, edge and walk is going to talk about or john a walk. I should say i always pronounce his name wrong. It's going to do a couple different presentations, one on duck, design and another more on the manual s and airflow side. Um jim kitchen is going to talk about outlaw outdoor ductless equipment mounting.

So for those of you who do a lot of ductless systems, there's some really innovative ways that you can think about mounting. Sam myers from retrotech is going to be talking about high precision, manometers and what you can do with them. That's going to be a virtual uh david richardson. We're really excited to have dave richardson down he's going to be from nci he's going to be talking about combustion, air myths and how to debunk them um, jim fultz from emerson is going to be doing universal.
Hvac controls, including universal furnace controls and defrost controls, jim's going to be doing a full two hour, rundown on measure, quick, uh ed's, going to be talking more about airflow manual s, nikki kruger from ultra air is going to be doing dehumidification, steve rogers, total system airflow That will be a great presentation steve again from the energy. Conservatory is a really excellent trainer when it comes to airflow and specifically whole system airflow, and then jim's going to do gas furnished commissioning, and we have a couple more that haven't made it on this list. Yet um one of them is craig miguellachio miguelachio. Whoever he's i never always mickey lachio uh from ac service tech is going to be coming as well, and talking about ductless systems and ductless system diagnosis um.

So it's exciting to have him. It's taken a lot of work to uh, to get him to come so really pumped to have craig um. Some people have asked where it's at this is our office. Big tent, set up in between that's our main stage.

We're gon na have about 200 people in person, uh plus our sponsors, plus our speakers, plus klo staff working the event, so all in all there might be about 240.. We have an off-site parking lot. That's a nice big parking lot that we're gon na shuttle. People to and from uh that's this address here if you are in person uh, we have a couple links here for our suggested.

Lodging last time i checked, we have about 40 rooms left between these two locations and these are special rates. So, if you're going to want to come in person, make sure to do that quickly, we put this. Disclaimer tickets are transferable, meaning you can give them to whoever you like, but they are non-refundable, and the reason that is is because we have to have enough to pay for the expenses of putting on this event. And if you buy a ticket - and you can't make it, then we would just ask that you donate it to maybe a student or somebody who could potentially make it.

The tickets are all very reasonable. So i don't think you're going to find that it's cost prohibitive either way and then our faq i'm going to go over this quickly. Um. How do you get tickets? You can purchase them at our eventbrite link, that's first and foremost um.

Will you be able to? Is this virtual live in person it's virtual and live in person? The virtual uh attendees are uncapped, so as many virtual as we can get and it's capped at 200 in-person attendees. If you are in person - and you cannot make it, then we will get you a virtual pass as well. Um we're going to be giving out virtual passes to most in-person attendees after the fact. But if you want it beforehand, let us know, and we can get you that pass.
If you're not going to be able to attend, will i be able to watch the content after the live stream? Answer is yes. For 30 days, you will be able to access it at the same site that you watch the live streams. What is the covid protocol we're located in lake county florida, which means that we do not have a lot of regulations or laws that prevent us from having an event like this? But we are going to be uh, providing hand, sanitizer and sanitizing in between sessions, as well as providing n95 masks for anybody who wants them, and you know just kind of reiterating all the same. You know guidelines that the cdc has given us for a long time.

Having said that, if you are living with somebody, who's very high risk and you're really concerned about it, then it may be best for you to attend virtually rather than in person. But again, if you want to wear an n95 mask, we will provide those at no charge the events being held at our offices. The majority of the event is under tents or in open warehouses, which will also help mitigate our risks. Will this be a sales event? That's a question: that's a lot of people have asked.

Look. I've been at a lot of training events where all they do is sell to you. This is not that type of event. Are there some people here who have products to sell? Absolutely we have sponsors and they have stuff that they'd like you to buy, but i've chosen people as speakers who are good educators.

Now, obviously there'll be some that are just strictly education and then there are going to be some that have a greater measure of um. You know products that they sell uh one speaker that i don't have on the list, which is definitely he's actually doing. Two keynotes is john ellis. He's an example of somebody who's going to be speaking about iaq, with no products to sell whatsoever.

Just talking about the products or just talking about iq from without a product to sell um, and so you know it's going to be a amount to both. Obviously um does the ticket include meals. The ticket includes breakfast and lunch all three days so just to give you a sense, it is costing us something and really, if you just think about the three meals, the cost of attending uh attending, plus the breakfast pretty much that break that's a break even alone. Um, are we offering ceus? We are not offering any state license ceus.

We are going to reach out to nate and uh. We had to wait until we got all the sessions cleared up, but i'm going to attempt to get ceus for all of the sessions can't guarantee that. But i'm going to work on that actually starting next week, so we should be able to get those through nate. Our sponsors are presenting sponsors measure, quick, our platinum sponsors, diverse attack, and then we also have a lot of other great gold and silver sponsors, honeywell navac, testo carrier, the energy conservatory retrotech solder, weld rector seal, fraca, refrigeration, technologies, truetech tools and field piece.
Are our current list on our current list and mitsubishi's coming in late too so they're not on here, but mitsubishi will also be a sponsor of the event and hopefully they'll have a session as well that i haven't yet added so anyway, it's going to be really A packed week now, two things something that i want to mention to you um right off. The bat is that the first two days are going to be nothing but training. So all those speakers that i listed there, those are going to be on thursday and friday. So the 11th and the 12th, the 13th is what we're calling expo day and expo day is going to be more about the sponsors you know showing their products.

It's going to give you a chance to talk to people and just hang out, even if you just want to come to the on saturday, the 13th just to hang out and talk to folks, that's going to be your opportunity to do that. Another thing that we're not officially announcing anywhere other than here is that jim and i collaborated on a rewrite of a book about evacuation. So if you're not familiar with the service engineer's guide to evacuation, we did a rewrite on that and added in a bunch of new content, so we're gon na have that book available at the event. That's our hope.

At least it's at the printer right now. Right now, lead times are crazy on everything, but we hope to have that there at the event um, so you're going to get a chance to go through that ask us any questions. Like i mentioned jim bergman's going to be there, i'm going to be there dave richardson, a lot of really craig milacio is going to be there a lot of great folks, that'll just be fun to hang out and talk whether you're into the commercial refrigeration side, whether You're into high performance homes, whether you're, just a regular old technician out there, applying your wares looking for a little bit of additional education, no matter what stage you're in you'll be able to pick sessions. That will be a benefit to you and i also give a money back guarantee if you're not happy at the end of the event.

If you don't feel like you got the value, then i absolutely am more than happy to give you um your money back based on that, so i would like to see you there if you're interested in being there again. If you want to find out more just go to hvacrschool.com and if you just scroll all the way up to the top of any page here. Well, actually it was right there right here in the top bar, it says events or you can type in hvacrschool.com forward. Slash events, that's it thanks so much for watching and we will uh hopefully, hopefully talk to you soon see you in the virtual or see you in person.

At our event, on march 11th, through the 13th, have a good one.
