Something people used to say all the time was, "Heating and air systems are all the same. They just have different paint and stickers." Out of ignorance, people have continued to say that. However, there are clear differences with lots of heating and air systems out there today.
In this video, Josh shares 10 different systems that are an exception to this phrase. Lots of brands have come out with proprietary products and ways to set themselves apart.

Hey guys, have you ever heard someone in the heating and air industry or someone talking about the heating and air industry, and they say something to the effect of well. It's all the same stuff. You know it's all the same guts, different wrapping or it's the same stuff and they're just painted different colors, i'm going to go through 10 different systems. That are an exception to that rule, and i could probably do way more than that.

That phrase that people say is is an old school phrase that guys used to say when they were trying to sell heating and air equipment, especially if they were selling a lower quality brand. And they had a customer asking for a more premium system. And they would say: oh you know it's all the same stuff, just different paint, different stickers. You should buy what i'm selling but again that's an old-school way of thinking.

Those days are over. There's a lot of proprietary products out there and a lot of companies making cool different, unique products. So let's go through them. Real quick number one is the daikon vrv life.

I did a whole video on this, so i'm not going to spend a whole lot of time on. It definitely check that video out, but basically the vrv life, a real, quick, 10 second commercial on it is, i believe, it's one of the only systems out there. One of the only systems on the market that you can have one outdoor unit and you can install it like you - would any sort of mini split system with a wall, hung mini, split, a floor, mount mini split all these different zones and a gas furnace. It's one of the only systems out there that can do that.

The vrv life again, i did a whole video on it. It does way more than just that, but that would be the first thing i always go to when people say: oh well, it's all the same stuff, they're just painted different colors, that's usually the first system i throw out there. I say: well what about the vrv life find another system out there that can do with the vrv life can and again, i'm not saying it's not out there, but it's not many number, two: how about york's micro channel coil and i'm not gon na debate, whether Or not it's a good product or not, but there's not many other products out there like it. I know a lot of other companies dabbled with the micro channel, but that was something that york kind of hung their hat on for a while, and it was very unique to them that a lot of other companies weren't doing number three: how about trane's polycarbonate cabinet? On their tam air handlers and of course, america's standard has them too, because american standard is a trained product.

But there's not many other brands out there producing air handlers that have those same polycarbonate cabinets with the blower motor on the return side of the coil. Again, pretty unique to that brand number: four: how about carrier and brian's thermitostats where the thermostat can adjust the airflow and the coil temperature, making the system remove humidity better than some other systems again pretty unique? How about trane's spine fin coil? I know years ago there were other companies trying to do it, but pretty much today, trane and their products run true and american standard ameristar, all of the trained brands they're the only ones producing full product lines with spine fin coil on the outdoor units. Number six daikin swing, compressor, there's no other compressor on the market, like it, it's very similar to a rotary compressor but less components, less things that can break down and superior in quality number, seven, how about bosch's, inverter technology and up until recently i know gree, has Their new flex line and they're doing similar type technology that bosh had, but just a few years ago, when the bosch 1.0 came out, there was nothing else out there like it. It's very unique and very different from a lot of other inverter systems out there.
That use communicating technology, how about rheem's spark ignition and i'm not saying there's no other furnaces on the market that have spark ignition. But i do know that that's something that rheem has hung their hat on and they have a really good reputation. Because of that and again something different than a lot of other brands, number nine amana, goodman's wrinkle bin technology on their furnaces on their heat exchangers. I know there are a lot of the other brands do bends that are similar to that now because of the advantages it has.

But amana was the first company out there that was putting wrinkles in their bins on their heat exchangers and then finally, number 10 daikins air monitor that can have real-time air monitoring of the air in your home, giving you up-to-date reporting of the quality of the air Things that senses in the air and problems with the air allowing you to have indoor air quality products fix that problem or call a pro. Obviously, if there's a really big problem, all that said, obviously things can change. Some of the products that i went over in the future, i'm sure that daikin won't be the only company with an air monitor in the future. I'm sure green bosch won't be the only ones with that: 24 volt ac, low voltage controls with an inverter system and so on, but i just want to do this video, because when someone says oh well, you know it's all the same stuff, just different.

You know different brands, different stickers, but it's all pretty much the same stuff, those folks when they're saying that they're either ignorant - or they are just saying something that they have heard. Others say all that said: thanks for watching hit that subscribe button, we'll see you next time.
