Hey everyone: my name is matt from swimuniversity.com and today we're going to do a product review of the polaris 3900 sport that polaris just sent me the other day. It's a pressure side cleaner, much like their 380 and 360 models, which means it takes water from the return lines and powers the entire, cleaner off of water pressure. So, together we're going to actually take apart. The box see, what's inside i'll, go through and review everything with you and then we're going to put it inside a pool and see how it performs.

So, let's start by taking apart the box and seeing what's inside this cleaner has a 5 liter filter bag which is actually pretty decent. It comes with a velcro and it has a zipper inside as well, so nothing just kind of flies out which can normally happen. The wide tracks tires, which are great they're black and they help to grip the wall as they cli as it climbs. This is actually a three jet system.

There's three jets inside here and those three jets spray upwards and create a water vortex which allows the dirt and debris to go inside here and then up into the filter bag. You have the backup valve the backup valve. What that does is the cleaner can get stuck sometimes or it's. You know it maybe stays in one part of your pool.

So what happens? Is this actually kicks on every every? So every couple minutes and it starts to spray water and it actually lifts the cleaner up out of the spot, where it's supposed to be and moves it to a different location. This is the quick disconnect that goes inside the return jet. This goes this screws inside your return jet like so and then once it's in you just quarter turn it and it locks it into place. This is your filter screen, so anything that's coming out of your filter system, whether it's you know dirt and debris - will get trapped by this filter screen before it gets pushed inside the cleaner, and that can cause your cleaner to clog up.

I'd say, overall, this cleaner is a really smart buy. I highly recommend it. It was super easy to install. I mean it hooked right up.

He has a booster pump already installed, so we just slapped the hose on put it into the return line and it went uh. If you're going to look at pressure side cleaners for inground pools, i would recommend going with a polaris uh that requires a booster pump. Your 280s, your 380s, and now your 3 900 sports uh. This cleaner, not only cleaned the pool i mean it was only in there, for i think, maybe three minutes and the bag was was had a lot of debris in there that we couldn't even see.

So i like, i said i highly recommend that you guys get one um and it not only cleaned the entire pool, but it looked good doing and that was cool. So, let's get sexy, you.

My Polaris 380 or 360, don't remember which, would get stuck on the edges of my curved steps. The front of the unit would contact and remain stuck on the steps, oscillating back and forth, finally wearing through the plastic. I went to a 4 wheel Pentair Platinum Legend and after a year or two it would get stuck in the corners. I was not happy with either. I'm considering the Polaris again, but have concerns about it getting stuck on the steps and wearing through the cleaner housing again.

I have this pool cleaner and I agree with the simplicity of the cleaner for installation and the great job it does. However, it is 3 years old and now it stays at the deep end of the pool. I have checked the RPMs, changed the UWF connector, checked all valves to the hose and still the cleaner is only going in a circle at the deep end of the pool. Can you prepare a video on the TROUBLESHOOTING these cleaners. PLEASE HELP! It is not time to buy another one. Last one I had lasted 7 years.

thanks for the review…well done. the pressure cleaners seem to do as good a job as the higher priced robotic models.
is the tail sweep (scrubber) worth the extra $30?
