Chad shows how to replace an oil filter on a rack refrigeration system.
Chad starts by isolating the filter. He does that by closing the bottom of the oil reservoir. He then traces the lines to each oil level regulator and closes each one of those off.
Drainage is the next step. Chad simply uses a hose and drains the oil into a bucket, which relieves pressure. He unbolts everything he can and loosens the mount. That way, he doesn't have to deal with the trouble of flare fittings. He then removes the old gasket and filter, cleans the oil canister, installs a new gasket, and puts a new filter in.
Chad finishes off the procedure by tightening all of the bolts he loosened earlier. He also opens up the bottom of the oil reservoir and the oil level regulators at the compressors.

Hey today, we're going to be replacing this oil filter on this unparalleled rack system, meaning that not all the compressors are the same size. So we're going to be getting this replaced right out here and we'll go through all the steps. So to get this oil filter changed, i went ahead and isolated this oil filter by closing the bottom of the oil reservoir and tracing that line back goes to each oil level regulator on the compressor, so we got all those closed off and now we can start Getting all the pressure and draining all the oil out of here and go on to the next step, so we got our hose hooked up, got drained into the bucket right here, open it up and let it all drain out now, with all the pressure relieved and All the oil drained out, i find it a lot easier is when you unbolt all the bolts and just loosen the mount and just drop it. That way, you don't have to fight with getting any of these flare nuts.

You know not tight enough or have trouble getting them off having to redo the players. If anything, i find just dropping this pulling the filter out makes it so much easier got. The new filter now go ahead and get that put in i'm gon na use. My pick to get the old gasket off and then go ahead and put the new filter in clean up the rim on this cap and we'll open things all back up and that'll, be it new gasket installed.

Oil canister is all cleaned up new filters, all right. Everything's tightened back up new filter new gasket just got to open up the bottom of our oil reservoir and all of our oil level. Regulators and this oil filter change out is gon na, be complete. That's all to it.

I'm not a refrigeration person but I work on commercial hvac. Question would you vacuum that oil canister down after opening it to atmospheric air with it valve off? Or I am just over thinking that process ? Service area Kanata??
