This is a follow up to my video i posted a few weeks ago on a walk in freezer that i could not control the superheat on. I found that the system had the wrong txv in it, i replaced it and all is good now.

So this is a recap to the video I made earlier returned on this walk-in freezer went ahead and replaced it all the hinges and the door closure got the door closing properly. After that, I went ahead and went onto the roof pump. The system down at the receiver came downstairs and replaced. The expansion valve put in the proper valve went ahead and replaced the liquid line.

Dryer also vacuumed the system down and then opened up the receiver and started the system back up. We did not have to add in your refrigerant because the charge was correct from the beginning, so here we are. We have the system operating properly now now, if you look at that, is my evaporator superheat, showing much better than it was before. We could not get it low enough before so.

I'm gon na go ahead and scroll over and show my compressor superheat right now and you will see 26 degrees again much lower and much better than what it was before. So this system is now operating properly and it was all because the TXV was not the proper TXV for this system. Once I pulled the valve apart after I replaced it, I noticed that the power head is incorrect. It's an SC on the last two digits.

That's a medium temperature of 404, a power head, we're dealing with low temperature, walk-in freezers, so that power head should have been a Sam zebra and the one that I replaced it with is a Sam zebra power head. I was a little concerned about the strainer. The strainer is nice and clean. Nothing was inside of it.

I did, however, find quite a bit of buildup on that TXV, some gunk in there like some carbon buildup from brazing, just kind of poor refrigeration practices and putting that valve in once I put the new valve in and adjusted it. Everything was working great kind of see, there's some goo going on.

    Nice fix

Nice catch, you probably are going to save that customer a lot of money on their power bill, with excessively high superheat there would be a drastically reduced refrigeration effect of course, and the compressor COP would be excessive.
