I realize the roof is white to reflect the sun and it's doing it's job but im more or less pointing out it sucks to spend hours working on the roof. However I am thankful to be able to work!

Light colors reflect the sun therefore lower cooling costs.
Try working on a zinc corrugated iron roof, like standing on a mirror, sun beaming down 106degF. The roof finish is to reduce heat load in the building

It's to reflect heat, our shop had a black roof when they redid it they put down a blue roof and it's amazing how much the temp drop inside the buliding is with a light color roof Are you in Kanata ?
Blindness is one thing. If youre a mouth breather you can get a sunburn on the roof of your mouth from the reflection

Chris try prism daily lenses by Oakley. They are really good on the roofs because they are refractive not reflective.

Lol, I don't see a problem here. Just wear some sunglasses or something. I bet that white roof paint saves a little bit of money.
The white color of the roofing material reflects heat better than a black roof.
If it's blinding, than it reflects a lot of energy, therefore lowering AC costs:)
