The phase down of 410-A refrigerant, inflation, and the powers that be in HVAC are all driving the price of 410 higher and higher. In this video, Josh shares the first, and currently the only, drop-in, replacement refrigerant for 410A. RS53 (R470A) hit the market this year and seems to be a viable option for those needing to charge their refrigerant in their HVAC system and possibly save some money. Will this be the long-term solution?

GREAT !!!… now I’m gonna start finding systems or somebody drops in this new 410 replacement on top of 410 🤬
Here we go again 😤
Just like R22 I would go out to customers job sites and find it contaminated.
BECAUSE I OWN A REFRIGERANT IDENTIFIER I would test a refrigerant and find out it is contaminated or somebody charge the customer for our 22 but actually cheated the customer and put in a R 22 blend refrigerant
Now the exact same thing is gonna happen with R410
Brandon raised the prices
No, its not inflation or any other issue. What it is, is greed. They know everyone is going to be needing it as the new crap comes into the market. Blame your local middle men.
New ac's here in Belgium all seem to have R32 now.
Is rs53 any cheaper?
I'm hearing a lot of brands are having trouble with longevity of their coils, and that many of those are made overseas of recycled materials in which the processing of those is not well refined. If this is truly the case, and refrigerants are being constantly being phased in and out with dramatic price hikes, it does not seem worth my time and money to purchase a new central AC. Buying a few window ACs in my house, at about $400 or so a piece is not such a big deal compared to having a central AC go out and spending thousands for repairs compared to a window unit going out. Despite their decreased efficiency but vastly improved over the past few years, window units seem more cost effective over the long run.
I'm just getting my R-22 system switched next week with a brand new 410. Now im really hoping that RS53 is really compatible with R410. All this for companies in bed with govt to make money.
Oh my lord let me get myself prepared for this! Another year of school! Hvac Are you in Barrhaven ?
Another headache imposed by the EPA on the HVACR practitioners! May the Almighty help us all !
How do you have a 505 area code in VA?
The 200%tax on imported refrigerant and the price gouging is why the 400%.
