This was a pretty typical walk in freezer service call that I get about twice a month across all my service locations. Even though I go thru this on a regular, I still treat each call as if it was my first!

how does that sprinkler head in there live, is it a dry system ?
I took a short cut with a industrial dishwasher almost died accidently touched the heater element prongs ouch 240volts Are you in Ottawa ?
Brazing montage music hath become de-icing montage music.
Lo.
Just started the video and instantly paused because I recognized this location. Last time they had a habit of tying the door open causing frost and you had to replace the door and frame because of rot.
What's wrong with people leaving the doors open? Do ya do that at home with your own fridge/freezer? I bet not so, why do it at work? Someone needs to intergrade a door open interlock where if the doors open for more then a set time it completely shuts off tell the door is shut..
i like this view of your job the camera angle now I see what you have to go through this really does much better than the close-up view unless you need the bolt detail perfect angle this is a 10 out of a 10 video audio and video angle
My first act on 'it's frozen up' was to rewind the video and look for a bungie cord at the door. Service area Nepean??
You should design some sort of controller that detects the coil getting iced up and forces an extra defrost cycle
Time to sell them curtains as well.
I want your music.
Almost fooled me into thinking those were ECM, until I realized I saw the silver caps strapped to the side, and I didn't hear the high pitch whine that a VFD usually creates. (and obviously when they didn't start spinning faster until they were at operating RPM.)
I'm split between fire systems and HVAC. I don't know what I want to do more.
I agree with you on that switch. With the fans running slow, there was a significant power drop across the switch which would have been heating it up.
WHAT DO you think about having 6 instead of 5 defrost all at 45 min instead of 30 and 45,and checking the fan cycling with this cooler weather maybe head pressure too low,did not see head master. thanks for sharing, with your help mine have remained ice free, with bad doors and no walk in cooler before door.
Thank you for the wonderful advice as facilities maintenance i have to troubleshoot issues before we can submit a work order.. i have learned so much from you God Bless you
When you know your equipment and how it operates….you don't always have to break out every gadget and gizmo fancy tool….you just know….because you've seen it a bunch of times before. Also you get to know the quirks of different manufacturers and their issues.
Still the best hvacr channel out there. Still helping everyone to become a better tech. Keep up the great work!
Lol, bring all the tools you need, that you know you need, but then some dick used another screw besides a 5/16 for the cover🤬🤬🤬, back up to the roof to grab entire bag, because who else knows what you will need.
We’re all smart, sometimes to smart😂😂😂 Are you in Orleans ?
Dude talk about maximum satisfying powerwashing timelapses that was awesome! Are you in Barrhaven ?
How is the home HVAC upgrade going?
Big picture diagnosis master
469 Thumbs uP Are you in Kanata ?
haven't been to this location for awhile
Chris, have you seen the yellow vinyl "tarps" with a hose fitting for leaks, drips, etc? The pipe fitters use them at work where they don't want water on a food production area, but don't have a big volume of water. One of the smaller ones could be of benefit on jobs like this, as long as there's a drain nearby.
Great timelapse & insight into defrosting process for outsider to the job 👍
man those things are always dirty
I like your real life breakdown fault finding videos. Electrical/Mechanical is my field with a bit of aircon. I have learned more from your videos than most of the so called courses I have been on. Thanks. All the best.
Loved the 80's De-ice theme music … Reminds me of the old VHS tapes we use to hide 🤣😅😂 Thx for sharing and keep the music …
Thanks lot for sharing your experience,
I am following you from Paris, france
the double zip tie trick is fantastic. saw you do it a while ago and now i use it all the time
seeing those fans barely start up.. id say you made the right call. that's a bad connection in the limit switch
I like everything else in your videos, except that too loud cheesy music on top of everything. I'd rather hear just water dripping or flame hissing or nothing at all.
Why not write the total defrost current draw (as measured at the timer) when you commission a system. Then you only need to test individuals if it is low. Service area Kanata??
Why are you people putting the controls on the roof at the condensing unit? Isnt it easier to put it at the box?
Thank you, it is very helpful video Service area Orleans??
💪👍🙏🇺🇸❄ nice work
Within the defrost montage I noticed the sprinkler pipe wasn’t sealed inside the cooler. That could potentially add to the moisture getting inside.
I forget if it was Technology Connections or ElectroBoom that did an explanation video on CFLs and the reasons they were so hated.
All florescent tubes have a heater filament on either end to bring the mercury inside the bulb up to vaporization temperature before it can form the plazma stream (e.g. floresce).
When the bulbs first come on in a cold environment, only some of the mercury vaporizes, so you end up with a weaker plasma stream. Service area Barrhaven??
It seemed like that ice melted quickly. Seemed like it was a quick buildup of ice rather than the long slow buildup that creates that clear solid ice.
love the 1980s music
First thing I noticed is the dry pendant sprinkler head sticking down in the wall in freezer lol. That’s installed completely wrong lol.
What's with the 80's porn style music in the background as you were defrosting that coil🤔😏🥶
I think someone needs to repair the dry pendant sprinkler head as well.
Awesome video
Defrosting montage! Cool.
"Why do all your videos have the same title?"
"Why do you all keep leaving the door open?"
