Hi Sir, you are doing a great service. Thank you. I am in need of a new packaged unit because the compressor on my old unit is on its way out. Drawing 58 amps to start up, on a 60 amp breaker. I'm going with replace because of old refrigerant being phased out, etc. Dont know why but I have two commercial units on my roof so I will need to go with a new one. Unfortunately the footprint is different so may have some costs of roof repair and re-doing the curb on my flat roof. So far I am going with a minimum 16 seer ac, to qualify for power company rebate and to save electricity and money. I am following your advise for the 4 of the 5 upgrades you recommend (UV light, Whole house filter, Ionizer, and Surge Protection) Living in the Southwest desert, humidity is not an issue. Here's my question, on another posters question he was quoted 16K for a package unit, you said go online and you should find it much cheaper. Well I have gone online and found "cheaper" but only available to commercial installers please tell me more about the going online to find it cheaper option where I can also get someone to install. The HVAC companies around here dont play that game. PS I am looking at either a RHeem RGEA16 2 stage heat/cool vs Trane XL16c 2 stage heat/cool.
ANY comments or advise will be appreciated.

You might do a video on your bonus tip—surge protection, both whole house and HVAC. I am adding both to mine.

we had the HVAC guy connect a new replacement breaker (assume he was an electrician for the company – large firm not far from you). ever since, our GFI’s stopped working. I believe they downsized our main HVAC breaker for the new inverter system.

btw, we really like the inverter system!!! we came off of a 10-13 seer system whatever was the new minimum requirement in 2011-2012. this inverter is super responsive for heating or cooling. and on these 90+ degrees days we could hang meat in our house 🥶!
