Hey guys in this video we're going to talk about the recovery mode on a honeywell t6 touchscreen, lyric thermostat and before we go any further, if you love kittens popsicles or chubby guys that do heating and air videos, please click that subscribe button. So real quick guys before we get to the actual thermostat, i want to say real, quick that i've read over several websites that talk about recovery mode and adaptive recovery. I i did a whole video about what adaptive intelligent recovery or whatever the verbiage is, and i've went over several websites, especially with the t6 in general, and i believe, there's some misinformation out there and i'm hoping to clear that up with this video, a couple of The articles i found online, i shouldn't say that it's going to sound kind of jerky, but i'm going to say it anyway, uh, and that is some of the articles that i found that were inaccurate were written by people that are not actually even in the heating And air industry, one of the articles i was reading at the bottom of the author. It just said that they are a professional writer and blah blah blah, and because of that, i think, there's some misinformation out there about what recovery mode is and what that means.

For you, if you have a honeywell t6, that said before we get to the thermostat, i just want to say if we are talking about recovery mode or adaptive, recovery mode or whatever, on at least with this thermostat, it's the same thing again. These articles i was reading, were saying it's two different things and one means it's coming out of energy saving mode and one means it means it's. It's adaptive recovery and it's two different blah blah blah on the honeywell t6 lyric. It is the exact same thing, and if we are talking about that, the lyric i'm not talking about the thermostat with the buttons we're talking about touch screen only so that's the thermostat we're focusing on here.

I'm going to show you two different ways to turn it on and off and why i think that's important, because if the internet was accurate, you'd be turning one one and the other off, whereas in this case, if you turn either one on or off it turns The other one the same, because it's the exact same thing in real quick summary with this particular thermostat. All that means is if it's turned on it will figure out how long with your home it takes to reach temperature, and it will turn on accordingly, if you're running a schedule and you set it for i want it to be 72 degrees at 3 o'clock. Instead of turning on at 3 o'clock to try to reach 72 degrees, that thermostat will turn on before that. So that way it's that 72 degrees when it gets to 3 o'clock.

So if you're walking through your door at 3 o'clock, it's at the temperature, you wanted it at because you turned on recovery or adaptive recovery or whatever the verbage is. That said, let's get to the thermostat all right guys. So we've got our honeywell t6 here and again, we've got two ways: we can change the recovery or adaptive recovery on and off, and i'm going to do it the hard way first and then we'll do it the easy way. So the hard way would be that we could hit the menu button and instead of just tapping it like.
I just did we're gon na hold it for five seconds, and so, when you do that, you're entering the contractor mode, i believe, is what they call it. Basically you're entering some of the settings that you would not normally you would not normally be able to enter just by. You know tapping a couple buttons, but in here we can do a few different things, but the one we want is device setup and so to turn on the recovery on and off we're gon na hit select and then we're going to scroll over to 425. At the top so 425 and you can see where it says, adaptive recovery we are currently on and to change that we're gon na hit edit arrow over and then now it is off.

So when you hit done it's gon na save it, and then we got ta back out. Okay, the easy way would be just to hit menu and come over to scroll over to recovery, and you just hit that and, as you can see, it is off because we just turned it off in the settings and the reason i was saying earlier that you Know there's this misinformation, where the two things are two totally different things. If you turn it off in the programming you're still turning it off here and vice versa, so we're gon na actually turn it on. If you saw a second ago, we turned it off in the programming here.

We're gon na turn it back on and you have to hit done and you'll even see the little recovery pop up there and we're going to go back to the programming and you'll see it is now turned on 425 again. It's back on. Okay, so just want to show you that it's not two totally different things with the honeywell t6 lyric. It is the exact same thing: it's your adaptive recovery and this misinformation on the internet.

Maybe some of the things it's saying on the internet is true for other thermostats, but it is not true for the honeywell t6. That's pretty much it guys. Thanks for watching hit that subscribe button, we'll see you next time you.
