Here's how to start up your hot tub. Follow this order every time you need to drain and replace the water. Step number one: Rinse and drain your hot tub. This is especially important for new hot tubs that have antifreeze in the lines.

Step number two: Wipe down the surfaces. A cloth or diluted white vinegar will work. Step number three: Install or clean your filter. Keep two filter cartridges on hand so you can let your dirty filter soak in a cleaning solution.

Step number four: Fill the hot tub, Add the hose to the filter well to prevent air bubbles. Step number five: Prime your pump, use the priming setting, or run your jets for 20 seconds at a time to clean out the air from the system. Step number six: Run your pump and turn on the heat, make sure you warm up your hot tub before adding chemicals, and step number seven: add startup chemicals and test your water. Follow us at swim!
