After receiving an update on the delay on a motor we had previously ordered from Bosch for a heat pump system we installed 3 years ago. This delay will be a total of 4 months from when it was first ordered if comes when they it is. My issue is that Bosch continues to sell equipment as if there is no delay in motors. This video is a warning to others about this new practice Bosch has started.

I have referred customer to the originals install becuase we didn't install. This was Carrier and the change in the industury is horrible. We are a lennox dealer and we would need do that..If we can't get part we will buy a brand new unit and pull the part out of the new one. Service area Orleans??

Bosch had been known for this for quite a while . Everyone says all manufactures do this ! Not like Bosch! Bosch is horrible

I think this is industrywide. I was quoted a one month lead time on a Midea/EcoTemp evaporator coil. Ended up upgrading to the new Bosch blower instead as that had 2 day delivery. I suspect hitting their sales targets with supply chain constraints may be limiting parts getting into the channel. I agree that it’s really frustrating to be on the receiving end of this problem!

I just had Daikin Mini Splits installed in Jan 2022.Someone told me in the trade that many of these mini-split companies will not have parts if needed replacement with Covid and supply shortages.Thats a year ago and we still have problems getting parts.I hope my Daikins will last without breaking down, if they do I hope there will be parts for them…..

We are HVAC contractors selling Bosch for 2+ years. It took us 2 months to get an air handler circuit board. Totally unacceptable in my opinion.
I had the wholesaler send me a new AHU and we took it out. When the new board arrived we installed it and sent it back. It was the only choice as the customer had no AC in the middle of the summer.
I will be putting a hold on Bosch sales for now.

Mitsubishi has been terrible with wait time on parts as well ! This sucks

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Daniel Kelley says:

Why don’t you just buy another unit, rob the part, install it at the customers house and then when you get the replacement warranty part install it on the unit you bought? You’ll still have a brand new unit to sell

    Mini splits are mold factories.

I have heard alot of stores and businesses say that exact work and not just hvac a bunch of other things

Bottom line the issue with parts or a/c or cars, etc. is all replacement parts come from China, Bangladesh or India! We need to get those back to America. Sure it may cost more but it's worth it if you can get parts when you need them!

I know that Goodman is suffering from labor shortage issues since the Daikin/Goodman factory and engineering complex is located in the middle of nowhere in Texas and people can’t afford to commute to a job that pays below industry wages.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ryan says:

Has Daikin been any better with their replacement warranty?

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Liz Lemon says:

    Loquacious. So your recommendation is?

I had a fujitsu board take 2 months to get

No issues with my company. Bosch is our go to.

Hey I think it’s ridiculous with getting parts especially with this brand because it’s being highly rated and advertised. I had a family member ready to have a unit installed. Are you in Kanata ?

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars soothing_stream says:

I can do you one better. We called Trane to buy a filter drier and they didn't have any filter driers to sell us. Filter driers. The part that is required to do any kind of repair where you open a line set… like what the hell. I guess it's one way to get people to buy new equipment when you can't do repairs on the old stuff

(We did eventually track one down. And bought a few as backups)

This issue is affecting most industries. If it hasn't hit the other manufacturers it will soon enough. It's nothing against Bosch. Look at the auto industry they can't get the chips for the vehicles so all those new vehicles are sitting there by the time they get chips they'll be a year or two old.
Before the glass shortage it took 3 mo's for us to get our windows. Appliances take anywhere from 3 mo's – 8 mo's. Nobody has anything in stock anymore, they may advertise as so, but then you find out it's delayed in a major way. We're building our house diy way and running into a lot of supply challenges. Welcome to the new world is all I can say. Manufacturers, small companies, even us all have major issues with finding help. I don't understand how people survive e without working but somewhere there must be free money out there. It hasn't fallen in our laps that's for sure. The other issue is the entire supply chain has been disrupted by all the countries shutting production and shipping down back in 2019. That has a major effect today on why all the issues.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Austin Bell says:

Ive personally seen this issue across the industry, not just with Bosch. From a Carrier supplier to Nordyne. I will also say, a few supply houses have been nice enough to let me take the parts from brand new models, to replace the bad one with. Those are my favorite supply houses.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kathleen Kroll says:

Thank you for reporting your issue. I was looking at Bosch based on reviews, this is a concern. Please keep us updated on their response.

BUMMER!! I actually just asked my hvac company to give me a bid on a Bosch. I currently have no heating due to oil boiler system in ground oil tank leak (and subsequent removal and remediation), and want to replace that system with a heat pump of SEER 20 or higher. Bosch had them in stock while the other higher end heat pumps seem to just be completely out of stock. I live in the VA part of Delmarva, and am hoping for a warmer than usual winter (La Nina). I have 4 portable oil radiators that hopefully will keep the icy cold at bay. Love your videos, thank God I saw this one. Will wait out the supply chain issue for Mitsubishi (or whatever) 20+ SEER heat pumps to become available. sigh 😕 Are you in Barrhaven ?

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rick Hewitt says:

We have a Mitsubishi mini split control board go bad on the unit that has less one year on it. They can not tell us when they are getting our part in. This is totally unacceptable.
Bosch was our number 1 top choice for our next unit that we are about to replace……we are going to reconsider. Thanks for the info.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Scuba Bro says:

Oh no… I just had my hvac guy order these 😞am I screwed? Service area Ottawa??

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Anthony Spadafora says:

Go buy a new unit, take off the motors and switch them and take it back. When they tell you they cant get the motor but they have plenty of motors for new units…anything goes!
