A recent ruling by the Supreme Court has said the EPA may have been overstepping its authority when setting some standards. In a 6-3 ruling in West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency, issued June 30, the court held that the EPA had exceeded its authority in requiring states to submit plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from plants that generate electricity. This may affect the future of federal agencies and their regulations on the HVAC industry. The EPA will need guidance and delegation from Congress when regulating certain aspects of the industry.

This video and most comments are based on their own $$$. No regards for environmental or health issues? Then these same people will end up in long-term health care facilities and wonder why it costs so much. Congress has lobbyists sitting at their door all day long, so no matter the evidence that the EPA presents to them, the lobbyist will get their way. Is no one thinking about how oil and other waste was poured into our waters and how CA is polluted to the point of skies not being as clear as they should be? I'm all for relaxing things, but Congress is not the best route to go.

Wait and see this will drive the price of HVAC systems way up as Gas and oil heat is phased out due to the Green laws.

I'm not really a fan of more people as that tends to create more disruption however, the EPA has made inefficient rules for decades so they should have to show more reasoning for their opinions and investigations.

I'd agree on this idea mainly because in the past, the EPA has made rules you'd expect coming from adolescent grade school students. A few decades back, they made decisions that cause automobiles to burn twice as much fuel yet the polluted less. Does that make any sense? Who was that decision made for, the people or the EPA? Surely not for those paying for the fuel.
Same is happening now with the idea of heat pumps and 95+% gas furnaces. There's more money going out on these ideas yet the returns are not so great which again make the value way less for the public. Then, going all electric is another one that only a 5th grader could come up with and that involves electric heating and cooling. Depending on the cost of power/rates and location in the USA, using all electric makes no sense when it comes to the cost to operate and the efficiency of said systems. There is natural gas air conditioning but no one is pushing for it and the operation costs are 1/3 of electric. The EPA should be questioned at all times…they have behaved poorly the past 30+ years.

The EPA has been politicized! Hey I have a big problem! I live on the coast of Texas. My condenser coils are rotting away from bottom up. Ac is still blowing cold air. I am wondering what can be done instead of replacing condenser coil. I'm taking care of my Mom and don't have much money. Are you in Nepean ?

Texas is the number one polluter in the US, it will only get worse due to Abbott and the gop.

I was prepared for bad news, more stuff making it harder for us to do things. This court rocks! Thank you all responsible for that. Overreach is what government does best. We all went to school with the kind of people who were bound for govt jobs, creating policy under the cover of hiding behind cubicle walls.

Kinda sucks if you're not already using equipment that meets those regs but honestly it's for the better it seems

This should slow the R-410A Phaseout. Ultimately lowering the cost of repairs to R-410A equipment for a longer time.
