Hi, I have a Bestway above ground pool 12' diameter and the water has debris floating all over. I've tried everything (chems, clarifier, brushing) but I think the water pump that comes with the pool is not powerful enough to filter it. Do I have to buy a bigger one? or there's another option?

So after your pool is clear n levels are good , how often / routinely are you suppose to run pool filter ? like up to 6 -8 -10 hours a day ? ( salt water pool , 25000g(

Do you constantly get a cloudy pool?

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars millatym04 says:

Usually, I’m no expert, but you either have a cloudy pool because:

    1) You’ve just recently shocked your pool which two days prior looked a little swampish.

    2) Water chemical level imbalance.

    3) All of the above…

Get your chemical levels in check, and LAST, but not least…. use the flocking flocculant (water clarifier)

Just speaking from my own experience with my pool.

    Lmao… these comments 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars mrrobvs says:

Irresponsible video. Step one should be to test the pool. Step two should be to diagnose the cause of the problem. Clarifier…..it's like step 20, with at least ten things before it that can fix the ROOT of the problem.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars The Avatar says:

After the PH test, the solution or solid added to the pool will be either acidic or alkaline, how could the clarifier satisfy both sides of the equation?

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Christian Simon says:

clarity to a pool… if organic clouding is present and the filter needs help, yes a clarifier will help. But cloudiness may also be because of a chemical imbalance, such as low chlorine, or too high a reading on a chemical or balance. could also be from a mechanical malfunction of the filter itself. good video, but might be a good idea to say what the problem was with the pool.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jan Wainright says:

I love your tutorials they are short and to the point….I get so bored with the 7-10 minute ones.  I usually don't even finish listening to them.  So keep them coming.

…not to mention the possible filter issues: DE–last backwashed? last complete breakdown? Cartridge–last time cartridge cleaned? cartridge condition? Sand– last backwash? Last change-out? Evaluate the equipment before adding ANYthing to the cloudy water.

Yes I do. I don't know if this comment will be stripped but it's clean pool and spa. There are nearly 1,000 pages of info. It seems Youtube won't allow me to put the url of the website but you can find it using the above. Are you in Nepean ?

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ruby Arias says:

Do you have a website of how to maintain and avoid all these problems?

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MCGamer says:

The thing about guys like him is they "worked" in a pool store, but aren't real pool guys. I'm a real pool guy. I had a route of 50+ residential and commercial pools in Arizona and pool operator for the Y for 3 years. No real pool guy will simply dump chems. in a pool. On my route the chems were included in the price. If I used floccs, algaecides, clarifiers, all the crap he tell you to use, I'd go broke. $15 – $20 (max) per month for chems. for a 25,000 gallon pool.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ruby Arias says:

No wonder he didn't put it. Thank you. Service area Kanata??

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MCGamer says:

Too many reasons. Many times it's beginning signs of algae but here are a few: CYA too low, below 20ppm or too high, above 70ppm will cause chlorine to become less effective, inconsistent chlorination, pump is not running long enough, too much sodium bicarb, too much calcium chloride, too much flocc, pH/TA too high, too much Baquacil, Proteam Supreme, Softswim, or Bioguard, bad, shorted out, or calcified chlorine generator pool, phosphate remover, over use of pool algaecide. That good enough? Service area Ottawa??

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ruby Arias says:

You did as he did, never mentioned what causes cloudy water. Are you in Orleans ?

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MCGamer says:

Oh Matt… Nice video, but, you never mention why the pool is cloudy to begin with. Why not? Pools are supposed to be clear. Wasting money on clarifiers is not the way to go. You need to test the water with a good test kit, Taylor K-2006 or 2005 work very well. Test strips are useless. There's a reason why the pool is cloudy. Please don't make videos and give people the wrong impression that there's "magic in a bottle". Pour 1 oz. in your pool and all of your problems will go away.
